Cookie Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

LPBB Technologie incorporated ("LPBB") explains here how cookies, local storage, and related technologies are used on lpbb.ca and SmartRack, including SmartRackESL for Clover merchants.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. They can remember settings, maintain security state, and help understand how a site is used.

2. Necessary storage and requested preferences

  • SmartRack stores sign-in credentials issued by its authentication service in browser local storage, including sr_client_access, sr_client_id, and sr_client_refresh, and storage managed by the Cognito authentication library. These maintain sign-in across tabs and support session renewal.
  • Requested interface settings, such as sr_client_locale, theme, and sidebar state, may be stored locally or in an interface cookie. A sidebar_state cookie, when used, has a configured lifetime of seven days.
  • Forms load hCaptcha where configured to detect automated abuse. hCaptcha may process IP address, browser/device characteristics, and interaction signals and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policies.

3. Analytics, advertising, and third parties

LPBB and SmartRack web applications do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party marketing analytics tags. The security and authorization providers described here may receive information when their services are used. This is distinct from authorizing advertising tracking. Before adding optional analytics or advertising technologies, LPBB will update the disclosures and provide consent controls where required.

4. Clover authorization

Connecting SmartRackESL sends the merchant to Clover's domain for OAuth authorization. Clover may use its own cookies under its privacy notice; LPBB does not control those cookies. SmartRack checks a short-lived authorization state stored on its server to protect the connection flow. Clover access and refresh tokens are encrypted on SmartRack's backend and are not used as browser tracking cookies.

5. Duration

Local storage can survive closing the tab or browser. SmartRack removes its sign-in token entries on sign-out, but closing the browser alone does not clear them. A token's authorization validity and the persistence of its stored value are different: expiry can require renewal or another sign-in even while storage remains. Preference entries may remain until changed or cleared. Session storage normally lasts for the tab session; provider-managed cookies follow their own expiry settings.

6. Managing cookies

You can remove or block cookies through browser settings and can withdraw consent for optional technologies through any cookie controls displayed on the site. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent sign-in, form protection, language preferences, or other requested features from working.

7. Do Not Track and opt-out signals

The current applications do not change their behavior in response to the browser's Do Not Track setting. LPBB does not currently sell personal information or use the disclosed applications for cross-context advertising. Blocking cookies or storage in your browser remains available, and legally required privacy choices continue to apply.

8. Contact and changes

Send questions about browser storage to LPBB Technologie incorporated at brian.bernier@lpbb.ca or through lpbb.ca. We will date updates when technologies or practices change.
